Creating and Marketing a Sustainable Product for Anthropologie

1. The average U.S. citizen throws away 70 lbs of clothing every year. Roughly, that

means over 21 billion pounds in one year.

2. Textile waste makes up 5% of all landfills.

3. The textile industry recycles approximately 3.8 billion pounds of post consumer

waste, but that only accounts for 15% of all waste. 85% still ends up in landfills.


Inspired by these facts, my team came up with the Green Collection; a sustainable product option for Anthropologie. The collection of upscale and upcycled jewelry is made with recycled textile waste. URBN Group prides themselves on sustainable locations, recycling programs, and solar energy initiatives, so we believe this product would fit well into their portfolio.


Together, we created the prototypes, directed a photoshoot for online campaigns, and organized marketing materials for the potential release of the line.
